CRM: How to update APN

Steps to update the APN on client devices.


  1. Once on site with the device in hand press the download button on the right-hand side of the screen. (Please do one device at a time to avoid all devices being out of commission in the event of an issue.) 
  2. The download screen should pop up with the updates to the system. If this does not happen please contact IT.
  3. Once the download screen has closed the new settings will automatically apply. give the device 2-3min to apply the settings and config.
  4. Look at the top of the screen and check if the device has a mobile connection with signal bars. If there is no mobile connection or signal after waiting. Please reboot the device and do the same check for the mobile connection and signal. If there is a connection perform a Test transacion on the IDTech APP.
  5. If the device has frozen and become unresponsive please reboot the device.
  6. If the device does not have a mobile connection and signal please contact IT and they will walk you through steps to unlock the device and check the APN Setup Helper App.
  7. Be prepared to hotspot your phone or connect the device to the clients WIFI temporarily in order for IT to resend the settings to the device in the event of a bad update/download.
